DMET-MERI Alumni (Singapore) is an Alma-mater of the ex-Cadets (Ex-Students) from India’s most premier Marine Engineering Training Institute in India. The Institute has been recently renamed as Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI). Established in 1949, the institute prides itself on producing global leaders for the international maritime industry.

Having produced more than 6000 Marine Engineers over last 64 years, most of them man the ships at Sea and are in various Level’s in shore based works. It seems that Singapore is quite attractive location for the Alumni. With close to 340 Alumni based in Singapore, it has the largest cluster of Alumni here. Typically the Alumni occupy roles like Superintendents, Managers, Technical Managers, Directors, MDs and CEOs. As such you are likely to find one of them in almost all ship owning, ship management and maritime related organizations in Singapore. in view of the large number the group decided to reunite and form an Registered body in Singapore. They Registered with the ROS Singapore in October 2012 (Reg No: T12SS0200C) The Alumni Association has been organizing annual DMET/MERI Alumni meet since 2005. The objective of this event is to provide members a networking opportunity and boost mutual collaboration.
